What is your cancellation policy?
When we start therapy, you will be given a standing weekly appointment.
This weekly appointment is your spot, and I will not fill it with anyone else! However, if you cannot make the session, I ask that you provide me with at least 24 hours’ notice. Otherwise, you will be charged the full cost of the session.
I’ve heard of EMDR. How does it benefit me?
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, acts as a memory and belief system ‘editor.’ It’s particularly transformative for individuals with trauma, helping them process and reinterpret distressing memories.
Do you assign homework?
I don’t assign homework, but my clients will attest that I am always recommending books or sending text links for interesting podcasts. I also believe that some of the work we discuss in therapy must be practiced in daily life to stick. You won’t be getting any worksheets from me, but I will remind you of the work that needs to be done outside of session.
How can I tell if we’re a good fit?
You’ve already started the process! Since you’re here, check out my website to see how it resonates with you. If it does, the next step is to contact me to schedule a free 20-minute phone call. We’ll discuss what’s going on and what you’re looking to get out of therapy. Our conversation will give me a good idea of whether I’m the best provider to help you.
While we’re talking, check in with yourself to see how comfortable you feel with me. You can generally get a feel for fit with me after that 20-minute conversation.
